Business School Notenboom’s higher education programmes are accredited by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO).

• BSc in Business Administration – NVAO accredited, CROHO: 34035.
• MBA in Family Businesses – NVAO accredited, CROHO: 40050

This guarantees that our degrees meet national and international quality standards.

BSc in Business Administration

• Degree awarded: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSc)
• Legal status: A legally recognised Dutch higher-education degree, listed in the national register (CROHO)

MBA in Family Businesses

• Degree awarded: Master in Business Administration (MBA)
• Legal status: A legally recognised Dutch higher-education degree, listed in the national register (CROHO)

Admission requirements, application procedure and costs

Admission requirements

• Secondary school diploma equivalent to Dutch havo/vwo or IB/A-levels.
• English proficiency:
  • IELTS 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 per band)
  • TOEFL iBT 90 (min. 20 per skill)
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced (Grade C) or higher.

Application procedure & Costs

• Online application + uploads (passport, diploma/grades, proof of English).
• Diploma evaluation & (optional) interview.
• Conditional offer + payment schedule.
• For non-EU/EEA: visa/residence procedure after acceptance.
• Tuition & fees
  • BSc Business Administration: € 23,090 per year (2026–2027)
  • MBA in Family Businesses: € 42,200 for the whole study (2026–2027)

Additional fees

Besides tuition, the school may charge additional fees for services such as:

• Application and registration fees
• Study materials (books, software licenses)
• Optional extracurricular activities (e.g., study trips, workshops)

All mandatory and optional costs are clearly listed before enrollment.

Study progress requirements

Study progress requirements

Students are expected to make satisfactory study progress. According to Dutch law and the Code of Conduct, international students with a residence permit must obtain at least 50% of the required ECTS credits per academic year to maintain their residence permit. This requirement and its consequences are specified in the Education and Examination Regulations (EER/OER).

Housing, insurance and banking

Housing

Finding suitable accommodation in the Netherlands can be challenging, especially for international students. Notenboom Business School does not own or provide student housing. However, we guide our students towards reliable housing platforms and local providers.

We strongly recommend that you start looking for housing well in advance. The Dutch housing market is competitive and affordable rooms are limited.

• Kamernet – One of the largest Dutch platforms for student rooms, studios and apartments.
• Pararius – Listings of apartments and houses across the Netherlands.

Tips for international students

• Always verify the legitimacy of housing offers to avoid scams.
• Be prepared to pay a deposit (usually one or two months of rent).
• If possible, arrange temporary accommodation (e.g., hostel or short-stay apartment) when you first arrive, while searching for a permanent room.

Our International Office can provide guidance and answer questions about the housing market, but students are ultimately responsible for securing their own accommodation.

Health insurance

• EU/EEA: bring your EHIC; additional private insurance may be required.
• Non-EU/EEA: private health insurance is mandatory; Dutch basic insurance becomes mandatory only if you take up paid work alongside your studies.

Bank account

We advise opening a Dutch bank account to manage daily expenses and receive any allowances. To open a Dutch bank account you typically need: passport, proof of enrolment, Dutch address and (for non-EU) your residence permit (or approval letter).
